Credit Reports

There are four areas of information contained in a consumer credit report.

Identifying Information includes:

  • Name
  • Current and previous addresses
  • Social Security number
  • Telephone number
  • Date of birth
  • Current and previous employers
Credit History includes:
  • Retail stores
  • Banks
  • Finance companies
  • Mortgage companies
Public Records includes:
  • Tax liens
  • Court judgments (including child support judgments)
  • Bankruptcies
Inquiries includes:
  • List of credit grantors and other authorized parties who have requested a copy of the consumer's credit report
Optional information that can be applied to a consumer credit report is: a model profile section, credit summary, and special messages on possible fraudulent or incorrect information.

In addition, any consumer statements and other Fair Credit Reporting Act information will be displayed.

Fraud Prevention Products

  • ID SearchplusSM* - Helps verify application information by matching a consumer's name, address and/or SSN against TransUnion's credit reporting database. IDSearchplus delivers current/previous addresses, SSN, phone number, DOB, aliases, consumer statements, and number of hard inquires on file.
  • Reverse Phone Append - Helps verify an applicant's information and identity by providing access to a multisource database of residential and business telephone listings.
  • Fraud Detect Model SM - Maximize your fraud identification rates while minimizing the time you spend verifying applications with a low likelihood of fraud. Fraud Detect Model enhances the effectiveness of Fraud Detect or Fraud ID-Tect to further streamline your application decisioning process.
  • TRANSALERT® - An add-on to a permissible purpose product. Offers a complete application-fraud prevention system that alerts you about a significant number of recent inquiries on a credit file and differences between information on an inquiry and the contents of our credit file databases.
  • TOTAL ID SM- A quick, easy and accurate identity verification and application analysis service. It provides you with both fraud detection and a reduction in manual review time. Risk Model Products

  • EMPIRICA SM* - A risk model that predicts the likelihood of a consumer becoming more than 90 days delinquent within the next 24 months.
  • HORIZON®* - A loss-ratio based bankruptcy model that predicts the likelihood of a consumer becoming bankrupt within the next 18 months.
  • REWARD®* - A collection model that ranks orders accounts according to the dollar amount estimated to be repaid and the likelihood of repayment within six months.
  • TransRecovery* - Predicts the likelihood of collecting $50 or more within 12 months on accounts that have gone into recovery. TransRecovery helps you evaluate your collections portfolio and determine its potential for recovery, identifying which accounts are candidates for early outplacement to a third party, and target accounts for legal action.
