Servicing and Foreclosure Compliance
The investigation into robo-signing practices of mortgage servicers grew more intense and resulted in federal enforcement actions against some of the largest mortgage servicers. The consent orders address not only a serious "pattern of misconduct and negligence" regarding the robo-signing issue, but also address loss mitigation and foreclosure policies, practices and procedures.
These comprehensive enforcement actions and consent orders, along with the looming state attorneys general settlements, serve as an example and warning to all mortgage servicers to reform and improve practices for servicing residential mortgage loans and processing foreclosures. Servicers not subject to the consent orders should act now to implement best practices in mortgage servicing.
Join Lisa C. DeLessio, Partner, Hudson Cook, LLP and Kristen Thomas, Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer at American Home Mortgage Servicing, Inc. for a key discussion on lessons you can learn from the consent orders and steps you need to take to incorporate best practices. Included in this program will be a helpful question-and-answer session moderated by CDIA's President and CEO Stuart Pratt. Register for this session now.
