Sarma Sponsors SA Youth Luncheon
The Turner Family & TETCO have made a remarkable impact on the lives of children and youth throughout San Antonio. Their brand of compassion and generosity sets an example for all of us, and we are pleased to honor them.
For the last 16 years, the Friend of Youth Award, given by SA Youth, has recognized philanthropists and community leaders in San Antonio who have made a significant impact in the lives of children and youth.
SA Youth programs have been reaching out to San Antonio s most impoverished youth since 1984. Our agency provides a host of activities for the most impoverished youth in the city; during the out-of-school time when juvenile crime and delinquency are at a peak. Each year, our centers and programs serve hundreds of inner-city youth: providing tutoring, music lessons, job training opportunities, educational advancement, recreational activities, social and life skills, meals and other youth development opportunities. Our mission is to develop the character, strengths, talents and skills of high-risk urban youth through fun, safe experiences, positive learning environments and holistic programs that inspire each individual to fulfill his or her potential in life.
The Friend of Youth Award recognizes individuals who have not only made an impact on children served by SA Youth, but we recognize philanthropists who have supported the work of other children s organizations as well. Over the years, The Turner Family & TETCO have invested thousands of dollars in local charities and have contributed greatly to the success of our Dan Cook Memorial Golf Classic, presented by KENS TV.
