On January 2nd, SARMA is ringing in the New Year once again as a sponsor of the Valero Alamo Bowl. As a sponsor we contribute to the economic impact to San Antonio. Over 1.3 million fans have attended the 22 bowl games resulting in over $457 million in direct economic impact for San Antonio. Over $90 million contributed to higher education through the bowl team payouts, local scholarships and team payouts for neutral site games.

Sarma will be there to support an exciting match-up between two great teams, Oregon and TCU. Oregon enters the bowl at 9-3 and ranked #15, while TCU is 10-2 and ranked #11.Two seasons ago, Oregon was in San Antonio for the 2013 Alamo Bowl and won against Texas (30-7), it was Head Coach Mack Brown’s final game and is an ESPN analyst for this year’s Alamo Bowl. The Ducks hope to repeat that victory against the Horned Frogs on Saturday.TCU is making their first appearance in the Alamo Bowl with four players in their roster from the San Antonio area. These two teams will be meeting for the 3rd time in history since 1978. The series is tied 1-1, (Oregon won 29-24 in 1977, while the Horned Frogs took 14-10 in 1978) proving to be a must-see game!
